Corpus Christi Cancer Center invites you to participate in its support programs.

We are located at 1625 Rodd Field Road, in front of Bay Area Medical Center. Please call 361-985-CARE for more information.

Support Groups are a useful tool for overcoming sadness, isolation and fear. Empathy, information, and confidentiality are highlighted along with respect for privacy and individuality. Look for support groups at our location after the first of the year.

The St. Peregrine's Mass for the Sick is held every first Sunday at 4pm at Our Lady of Corpus Christi Church. Many patients find that attending the mass is a great source of strength.

H2U is a service of Corpus Christi Medical Center/HCA for adults 55 and older. Membership is $15/year and includes many support and exercise programs, speakers and other activities. We have H2U membership forms available here. The following H2U exercise programs are helpful to cancer patients in keeping their strength up. Please consult with the doctor prior to attending.

  1. Exercise with Nancy: a low-impact program for both men and women. A consent form (available here) must be completed prior to attending.
  2. Yoga with Susan Paul: bring your mat for a relaxing hour (and a 15 minute nap) - this activity is $20/month in addition to H2U membership.

Additional exercise activities include bowling and line dancing for a small fee. We have H2U newsletters/calendars at our office with dates and times.

Coming in January: Stretch & Tone with Melinda - develop balance and endurance in this low-key group that is similar to Exercise with Nancy.

The following American Cancer Society sponsored programs are also offered:

  1. “Look Good...Feel Better”: specific tips are presented to cancer patients by cosmetologists to enhance appearance and self-image related to treatment side effects.
  2. “Man to Man” Prostate Support Group: provides education and current information for patients, survivors and family members - this will be at our location starting in February.
  3. "Reach to Recovery": a one-on-one support program for breast cancer patients provided by trained volunteer survivors designed to enhance coping.
